All my life I have been an avid crafter, designer and artisan in multiple mediums over the years.
Fiber arts have recurred over years as knitting, felting, crochet, latch hook rugs, and of course knitting (did I mention that already?)
Looms and weaving have always fascinated me, so I thought I would give it a shot. I wasn't sure if it would be as satisfying as knitting or crocheting, but I tried it and was immediately hooked.
There is an entire world of weaving techniques and styles to choose from like Saori weaving, multi-shaft weaving, double weaving, and rigid heddle weaving just to name a few.
I settled on rigid heddle weaving for a couple of reasons. First, it had the lowest cost of entry into the field. I didn't need to spend thousands just to get started. Second, it was more portable than other types of weaving and also easier to store. I didn't need to dedicate huge amounts of space to it in our home.
If I thought the process would be less satisfying than knitting or crocheting, I was soon proven wrong. It is a very relaxing and enjoyable process and I love to see how the items come together during the process.
Since I had an Etsy store before that was on vacation mode permanently, I decided to reopen it and rebrand it to TangledWebWeaving and try my hand at an on-line store again.
Now I am back where I love to be, creating beautiful things and playing with colors and textures.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you'll come back soon.
